A - my name is Andrea and my husband's name is Albert. We live in Alaska and we sell air fresheners.
Do you remember playing A - my name is Alice in the school yard as a kid, perhaps while jumping rope? You had to come up with a boy and girl name as well as a location and occupation for each letter of the alphabet. I thought it sorta fit for my debut post in this here A-Z Blogging Challenge.
So how to work all that in ... hmmm.
Andrea - the name I had picked out for the little girl I never had. Andrea Dianne. Alas (Ha! Another A word), while I was blessed with two fine sons, I had no daughters, so no little Andi's at my house.
Albert - my big brother who lives up in NH in a log cabin that he and his wife (who is not Andrea) have turned into a beautiful home. A hard working Harley rider with a heart of gold, Al is always busy with something and rarely takes time off. I think his heart would stop if he sat for too long. Albert is also the name of his son, my oldest nephew who, sadly, was killed in a motorcycle accident some years ago in Florida during bike week. We miss you, young Al.
Alaska - I think we all know what that is, probably more so since Sarah Palin shared it with us. Alaska is one of the places I'd love to experience before I'm called home - the breathtaking scenery, the wildlife, the laid back atmosphere. I've seen a number of TV shows and and have read books set in Alaska and it makes me want to grab my mittens and mukluks and holler mush. (Whoops, wrong letter ... sorry 'bout that).
Air Fresheners - I'm not sure why I chose air fresheners for my A word because I don't really use them, but it was either that or accordions or alpacas. I try to stay as chemical free as possible in my home and can't stand heavy scents and toxic cleaners, so those plug-in things are out. I prefer a more natural way of getting rid of odors and freshening the air so I use vinegar instead. I keep a spray bottle handy and mist the air whenever needed and know that my pets and I are better off for it. I suppose if I had alpacas I might need stronger air fresheners.
There you have it - Marie Anne's first post in the A-Z Blogging Challenge, brought to you today by the letter A.

This was a really sweet post, I had fun reading.
Love this one :)
I'd LOVE to visit Alaska some day. Photos I've seen just take my breath away and I can handle the cold much better than I can the heat.
Cute post! My grandmother - in - law actually has alpacas---- but not indoors :)
That was fun!
And yes, I remember doing those rhymes and others jumping rope. Good days!
Although I'm not doing the letters this week, you might enjoy my latest blog post about grade school!
Happy Weekend to you
Clever theme! Don't remember that game though. Guess I wasn't a rope-skipping kind of boy.
Great start to the challenge! I have to admit I don't remember ever playing that game in my life.
Nope, I'm not familiar with that "My Name is Alice" game but it appears to be very fun, so I wish that I'd have played it in the school yard when I was younger. After all, I did play jump rope so why didn't any of us girls know about this game? lol.
Good A words. I loved the My Name is Alice game!
